Abstract
In the article the questions geopolitical development by Russia of the North America in XVII - XIX centuries are considered. Geopolitical interests and the purposes of Russia, and also the system of territorially-political control created to it in region are studied. The author's sight at the reasons of failures of territorial expansion is offered.
